Kristen, my niece, is a diva. We wept during her senior vocal recital at Dennison University. How does a knobby-kneeed little girl grow up so fast? Where was I when she turned from duckling to swan? Keith captured a happy moment mother and I shared after the recital. It's my favorite picture, ever - of the two of us. I felt a twinge of guilt as my kind brother-in-law, Phil, offered a toast in celebration of my award in the poetry contest. Kristen was sweet and said she was happy to share the limelight with her Aunt Cathy. Color me happy :0)

A lovely photo of you and your Mom...you had a nice weekend.
What kind of tree is that behind your niece? Those things are all over Indiana and they're SO pretty, especially in the morning sunshine.
Casey - That is a redbud. Aren't they lovely? They're opening with the dogwood here in my yard. This time of year one doesn't want to blink for fear of missing a moment of beauty.
You asked when you might read my contest poem. I guess I'm not to post it as it makes it less 'publishable' - but if there were someway to send it to you privately - I'd be delighted to do so.
Oh better yet, Cathy -- where is it being published? I'll wait and get a copy of the mag. I'm a big literary magazine fan... or does the Frost contest have a website?
Yes. You can go to heritagehousemuseum.org to learn about the RFPF. I don't think the poems end up on their website. When I spoke with Ray at the museum he said they were considering doing a 12th anniversary anthology. Beyond that I just dunno.
Ah -- got it. Well if you can email it to me I'll promise to destory it after reading it....
