Inspired by Mary of 'Mary's View' who has to be one of the nicest and funniest people in the blogisphere - I submit my gallery of funny bird visages. Thanks for the smiles, Mary . . . I hope these give you a few.
To swallow or not to swallow.
Lift Off. (Wood Stork toes)
He was singing his heart out atop old Baldy.
Coy. (She knows she's gorgeous)
Bad hair day.
Happy as a puppy with two peckers?
Daytime Night Heron. (Trying to ignore this idiot photographer)
White pelican in a rare awkward moment.
Grace.
Circle of life. Or . . . an unwilling dinner guest.
Leverage
Well . . . not exactly poetry in motion, but when you're a white morph of the Reddish Egret - you're special and you know it.
Check out his balletic 'plie'.
Check out his 'attitude'.
I dunno. It's that wild-eyed look and the pompadour that makes me see Jerry Lee Lewis.

My, you have been busy in your hiatus collecting terrific photos. Some of them are worth making posters with funny sayings. The Bad Hair Day and the last picture are priceless!
Ruth!
Thanks so much for stopping by my snow-drifted door (a good metaphor for my brain:0) I'm so pleased they made you smile. I've been so absent in the blogisphere I worried that my blogging friends would wander away.
Such wonderful photos and they are so wonderful! I think I need to go back and look at them over and over again!

The eyes with the attitude: that would be me this morning until I came here. Cathy, these are the best of the best funny caption photos! You are incredible! Thanks for making me smile when I needed it.

Thank you . .. for stopping by to check on what may re-emerge as winter recedes.
Your peeper post was a Spring tonic.

Larry! Thank you, my fellow birding fanatic :0) You have far surpassed my birding skills on the wings of a true full-fledged Birder. (I loved your latest post)
Oh it felt good to laugh! Thank you, Cathy.
Hi Cathy - such unique and enjoyable photos. I think they are all worth publishing with such witty sayings to accompany them. Great job, friend!

I'm so glad you got a chuckle out of them. Thanks so much for dropping by and saying so :0)
I recently told Sandy at 'Garden Path' the same thing about getting published. Check her out in my side bar.
Wow Cathy, those are amazing pictures! Did you take most of them in Florida? I especially like the Wood Stork--I've never seen one of those in real life.
Hi Ruthie -
Thanks so much! I took them all on Sanibel Island. There's a nature drive affectionately called 'The Ding' where most of these birds were perched and/or feeding.
