Isn't It Romantic? Not!

Before I finally succumbed to the 'thing' - I snapped this Tundra Swan.

My last day birding I spotted this female yellow-headed blackbird.

A black-throated blue warbler sporting a different look.

To those of you who wander back to this abandoned little outpost in northwest Ohio - my sincere gratitude and apologies that your journeys have been for naught.

I know you've all heard of that tombstone in the Florida Keys that reads: "I told you I was sick".

Well. Mercy me. Now I have an answer as to why I just didn't feel good. It took a really miserable event to land me in the emergency room and into a CT to determine that the old gray mare has developed (I'm whispering this now) diverticulitis.

So more drugs and procedures are scheduled whilst I lie here behaving myself on bland food. I will not even create a link to this condition. Just don't get it. Ick.

Meanwhile the spring migration of warblers is passing over my head and I'm not on the lake to celebrate with the other birders. Poor me.

Actually, I'm just so grateful to have a diagnosis that I'm not indulging in a major pity party. It's OK to be on the receiving end of TLC. Really OK :0)

Hope all is well with you. Happy Spring. Happy Birding.

Ouch, all those little pockets filled with discomfort of fermantation, inflamation and infection ...poor you. New diet, new you me thinks after some serious intervention on the day to day and the bod front. I do hope that you have not got an even partial blockage but sure you'll be in safe hands.
Ah just think of all those beans and raw apples with skins on of course you have to look forward to, cough.
Take care, D-W

I have heard of diverticulitis, it's nasty and I'm sorry you have been so terribly uncomfortable. Not to mention wiped out. I hope they have an under control soon and you are back to "looking up."

I'm happy to hear you went to your family reunion, it warms me when I know I have touched my friends in a positive way.

And remember to b-r-e-a-t-h and heal.

It's so good to hear from you, Cathy. I'm sorry about your illness. It sounds like you have finally found out what has been ailing you. Now on to sweeter thoughts, and enjoy your spring. Let's hope you get to enjoy those beautiful birds and flowers around you.

I know a few people who had the big D and after a little adjustment and some meds, they are just DANDY! They're living life wildly and feeling much better! Who cares about peanuts, popcorn, and apple skins?

Keep Looking UP dear Cathy. Soon you'll be frolicking with the ducks.

Hugs - glad to hear from you!

Hope you are feeling better soon.Sorry to hear that you have been under the weather.
I like your warbler shot. One of my photography goals is to learn how to capture them (on camera).

Oh Cathy, I am so sorry you have been sick. Diagnosis is good and you will prevail; quickly I hope!

I am on the gulf coast of Texas right now. Nice today but mostly too sticky and hot for me. The birds, however, are AMAZING! I'll think of you with every new one I see (that will be frequently!) :)

Cathy,
As much as diverticulitis is not something you'd choose to be dealing with right now, I'm happy to hear it isn't something even worse!
And can imagine there's some relief that comes with finally getting a diagnosis after a long time of unidentified malaise. (I'm the worrying type that always assumes it's going to kill me slowly before anyone takes it seriously)
At least once you know what you're dealing with you can deal with it, right?!
So glad to see this post!
Be patient.

Such stunning photos and that Black-throated Blue is a great find for sure! The Blackbird reminds me of being a kid and taking a buttercup asking "Do you like butter". If you have yellow under you chin you liked butter! I wonder if the blackbird likes butter?
