And a good time was had by all. :)
Ah Rev. Paul. . . it was indeed . . . if only to get a good laugh as we two "kids" tried to get down on our hands and knees on this waaaay over-worked pile of rock and dirt . . . to scrape and chop and come up with nuthin'.
There's a quarry nearby - so there is the potential of cool finds - But not in this artificial 'Fossil Park' where they dump a few front-loader scoops to give kids something to do. Maybe they just hadn't replenished it recently.
But Lori and I had a good time just 'being' . . . just enjoying our moment on this fascinating planet.
Ooh, you cannot beat treasure hunting in any form....and fossils are super duper fun! We have a creek where we go sometimes...wild fossil hunting at its finest. Alas in wet years it floods.
We had no luck . . . but just the fun of it ! I'll bet you've found some cool things!
I never realized they dumped loads from the quarry. I have heard people say they found fossils there, but I didn't have any luck when I went (years ago) either.
Yes . . . it was curious . . these cement-like over-worked piles. They provide water . . . to wash thing off, I guess. But we were using it just to try to soften a little patch of ground. Got old in a hurry and we were happy to get up and sight-see :)
