A Fib

If I told you I went on a hot air balloon ride and came in low over the Arizona landscape to get this picture - would you buy it? Well if you really really knew me you'd know I'd never leave the ground in a basket propelled by flame. Would you? The picture is actually a macro photo of lichen on a granite rock.

Oh, you could have gotten away with it. I never would have known!

Y'know, ya coulda fooled me. I'm not too surprised that Cuppa and I would have the same reaction either.

Ya- I would buy it. You seem the daring type. And that looked like a picture of tree tops! I went up in a hot air balloon one clear fall evening a number of years ago and it was grand- absolutely golden and magical. You should try it and take your wonderful camera eye.

I would never suspect you of lying! NEVER!

Cathy--likewise. See you on the daily Thoreau once in a while?

And if you ever join MySpace, I'll probably be somewhere around there too.

Very convincing "landscape". If you had gone up in the balloon, you would be much braver than I. For a few years, balloons used to fly over our farm a few times a week, but I never had the inclination to go up in one.

You had me, I would have believed it!

Thanks for your comment.

Cuppa - You're so sweet. I want to have a cuppa coffee with you sometime.

AC - You come, too!

Vicki - Moi? Daring type? Thank you! But you're the one who did it - I just don't know - flame and fabric . .

Laurie - Thank you! You can tell by the title of my post that lying isn't something I'd do easily. (Practice makes perfect :0)

Casey - dear Casey - Yes - over at Thoreau's place and perhaps I'll learn to navigate MySpace.

Bev - We do have a few things in common, eh? When you muster the courage to go up up and away - let me know.

Pam - Well as you can see I'm on a roll as no one questioned my veracity. Gosh. Hope fibbing doesn't become a habit :0)

I can see it now--your life of crime (aka lying) begins because you fooled all of us, your blog buddies!
Just kidding.
I love the photo of the hot air balloon with cactus.
You wouldn't catch me off the ground either.

Fresh hot coffee can be made at the drop of a hat at our house so drop in anytime for a cuppa of the delicious brew and a good old fashioned chin-wag!

You are so clever, Cathy! I would have bought this one, no doubt.

Would I take a ride with fate in a hot air balloon? Not a chance!

Cathy said...

Kgmom - Yep. You all aided and abetted the first stirrings of my latent sociopathy. But y'all will be able to say 'you knew me when.' ;0)

Cuppa - You're on! Same goes at my house, though I'm still looking for the best brand of coffee. Any suggestions?

Mary - So it's you, me and Burning Silo waving goodbye from the ground at the rest of those dang thrill seekers.

You could have fooled me!

Ah, you could have fooled me with all this hot air. And, on another note, that lichen sure looks dormant, but tenacious.

Hey, I fell for it!

Lynn & Rhea - You're both just being kind. (Thanks:0)

Bonita - Yes, it is getting a bit blustery around here. I can see why this scrawny desert colony looks all dried up to an inhabitant of the moisture-laden Northwest Pacific.
