Hope


Yesterday I had to take off my long underwear. I've been layering my clothing for weeks and by mid-morning was uncomfortably warm. It was almost unsettling to have to re-configure my morning attire. Guess I'm a creature of habit. Of course the upshot is the astonished awareness that, by golly - Spring is going to make it. We're going to make it.
My dearest one is scheduled for gender-specific surgery in two weeks. After open-heart surgery and a few other niggling concerns, it's not a happy-go-lucky time here for us.
Our son flies in from Boston today to attend his Grandma's funeral. No. My husband isn't getting a break. His mother died yesterday morning after several years in a nursing home close to her daughters.
I can't tell you (but you understand) how that little clump of daffodil leaves in front of the snow bank - lifted my spirits. It's been a long winter hasn't it?

Pam - Spring is my favorite season though others have their beauty. But Spring is all about Hope and renewal. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Sorry to hear about the stressful times now and ahead. We've had to deal with a few as well recently. Even though we know that all should go well, there's always that twinge of uncertainty. Well, here's to better times ahead after the medical stuff is out of the way.

Bev - Yes it's the uncertainty. As a physician Keith is aware of all the possible complications and the prognosis difference between a Gleeson 7 and 8. Bottom line: 'Hope' will be our mantra for weeks and then years to come. Hope your Don is on the mend. Thanks for the good wishes.

Thank goodness that when daffodils finally bloom they are a brilliant yellow bobbing in the wind.... bold reminders that life is extravagantly effective in its little affirmations. Looking down, we see these things. I hope you hang in there Cathy, through these tough times. My condolences to you and your family on the passing of the 'dear mum'.

Bonita - We're just back from the funeral. It was so comforting to be around Keith's sisters' families. We felt buoyed by their caring and concern for my husband's health. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
