We're Not In Kansas Anymore . . .

Just sharing today's highlights before crawling under the covers. It's COLD in Phoenix tonight. Lots of wildlife just outside our door. I was photographing mourning doves out one window when my husband spotted the Bobcat out the other. This all makes Toldeo look pretty tame. That's a Javelina going after the crackers and water I'd put out for the quail. That's a cowboy (or a close approximation there of)

No way is that a wild bobcat! You visited a zoo - right? Keep this up and you'll be getting street cred as a real wildlife photographer! Very cool! Wouldn't mind a little zoom on that there two legged critter either!

Oh the cat is beautiful, what a joy to see such beauty so close and in their natural habitat. I have to say I laughed at the cowboy photo as to me it looks as if he is riding a cactas which must be quite a 'moving' ride.
Hope the cool night is replaced by a sunny morn and you are able to get out and take some more pictures and just take deep breaths of sunshine.

Ok, that Javelina can harm humans. Be careful out there!

That cat is stunning. You are so lucky to have this opportunity.

It's amazing, the wildlife you see running around in the desert. We had a bobcat come very close to where my Mom lives and the javelina's are so bold. The road runners cracked me up, just like the cartoon.
Your photos are excellent!

Oh Cathy! Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip with your blog friends. I've never been to Arizona, although every year at this time I dream of going to spring training to watch my favorite baseball players warm up! Your photos are beautiful.

I wonder, are the cactus in bloom there? It would be worth a walk to see them.

Looks like you got to see way more animals in the desert than I did in the rainy northwest. Only thing we saw was a herd of elk.
Isn't the diversity of planet earth marvelous?

These are all wonderful photos. As Pam said, it's amazing what you see in the desert. I'm always amazed when people tell me they don't care for the desert because there's nothing much there. (What??!!). We've found that that we see more life there than in almost any other type of habitat.
