Re-emergence

The sun is back.

The Robins are back and singing despite the snow.

Two weeks ago I saw these tracks and knew my possum had stirred from under the shed.

Sure enough. There she is. Awwwww . . .(Really, she is there - just through the screen, beyond the dogwood trunks and drinking from the heated birdbath.)

My backyard ducks are back.

The Goldfinch's 'true colors' are re-emerging.

I shared my breakfast with the first fly of the season. He flew through my open car window as I relaxed in the local park.

That's Spring - sunshine and sitting on the porch to visit with newly emerged neighbors over a cup of coffee or a bit of toast. My license plates read: MI PORCH

A fly hit me on the face when I was walking yesterday and surprisingly it made me happy. My first outdoor insect of spring. The tree swallows were scooping up lots of something in the air as well. Let's hope the snow goes for good this time. We still have plenty.

You have more new snow than we do. Wonderful day here!

Flies are awakening here too, although our goldfinches are still wearing their winter fatigues. Love the finches-not so fond of the flies.

Wooo--look at the macro feature on your camera.
Loved your previous post too--complete with animals tracks, narrow escapes and poetry.

all these photos are stunning but I really love the yellow in the goldfinch in that one shot! Enough of seeing the snow! Yeck!

Yay! Cathy has flies!

Isn't it amazing how nature lives on schedule regardless of the weather? I've seen it here, too.

When we see the flies, bees, and gnats, spring has arrived.

And, of course, molted Goldfinches - the sweetest birds of summer.

May your snow melt, dear Cathy.

Hugs,
Mary

Colorful birds surrounded by all that snow must bring joy to your eyes. Very pretty visitors!

It's nice to see the goldfinches spring colors coming back.-Did you turn your poor neighbors into flies and made them eat toast crumbs?

Duck bottoms, coloring male goldfinches and flies ... your spring has surely arrived. The snow was merely a distraction.
