Into The Spring Woods . . .

With Jonna and Hudson the terrier.

We weren't alone. Mr.Snapping Turtle didn't budge.

The eyes said it all . . .

" I'm tired of cold mud.

This light, this moss,

this log, this frog song are mine.

Move along."

We did.

Mr. or more probably Mrs. Turtle isn't smiling but I sure am! What a great pair of pictures. I love herps and wish ours would come out of hibernation pretty soon.

No Sweet Lynne. I gave him an appropriately WIDE berth.

TC. Really ?! Yours are still slumbering? On the topic of reemergence: I participated in a vernal pond survey. It was so awesome! I'll have to blog it.

Yes, AC - a little reminder of the DNA whose remnants still lurk beneath our cranium ;-D

Oh, my! Lovely portrait!! My Grandmother use to catch snapping turtles to make turtle soup. I can still see it squirming in the pot. This is a great find!
