Your father?

Yes, Marianne. My sibs and I are in a rather nostalgic mood this spring. He was truly, the finest of men. My mother always said of him - that he was as kind to the garbage man as he was to her :) I miss him so much. He was felled by Lou Gehrig's Disease. Dad was always a runner and healthy. This terrible disease took him in nine months. He was 73.

Yet another member of The Greatest Generation that I wish I'd met.

Thank you Rev. Paul. He'd have loved hearing your story, too.

I can see the resemblance to your brother. I am so grateful to the many men like him, unsung heroes who keep us safe and provide in war time and peace. I can see why you can never forget him.

Oh Jonna . . . yes, it's there in Bob who of course is his namesake. And yes . . we owe so much to so many for our good lives.
