A Little Fluff

Time out from light gathering to garner a little smile from my blog friends. I have the fattest squirrels in northwest Ohio. They've been on a peanut diet for months - it agrees with them. I forgot to toss peanuts onto the deck this morning so this fellow went foraging on the bird feeder.

What an adorable picture. You have the squirrels pretty spoiled, don't you?

By the way, I'm still marveling over the "fluff" coincidence. Do you hear the Twilight Zone music in the background?

Is that really a red squirrel or is it simply the colour that I am seeing. It looks too large for what know as red squirrels which are found north or blacks and grays around here. I mean they're north of where I am or at least in the coniferous forest.

Yes indeed, dmmmgmfm - that's exactly the music I was hearing.

AC - these are our fox squirrels. We just don't get red squirrels in our neighborhood. We don't have the conifers they like. I think the black and grays you refer to are closely related to our fox squirrels and actually have made incursions to the south as last year for the first time ever black squirrels showed up in the central Ohio town in which I grew up.
