What I'll Miss

Who among you, who have blinked back tears as you stood in the driveway or at the airport curb waving goodbye to a child, needs any explanation of these pictures -beyond the caption: "What I'll Miss"? Nuf said. Well that - and the fact that he's been home for two weeks - enough time to make it seem just natural to hear him coming down the stairs in the morning.
When I originally tried to post the shoe picture it disappeared beneath the porch picture. It was about to show a cobweb discovered by the flash. When it came up in my preview hidden I'm thinking No Way! The housekeeping fairies hid it out of embarrassment:0) I posted it again with the cobweb revealed above the left toe of the white shoe. Click on it for full enjoyment.

My heart goes out to you. I know how difficult it is when children leave the nest. It's been over 5 years for me and I still miss him every single day. *sigh*

By the way, it took me three tries to get the word verification right, what does that say about me? xzttlcj was the one I finally got. I think the word verification police need to buy a vowel. :-|

Laurie - I was overly abbreviated and I can see how one might not understand that we are decades beyond the empty nest 'trauma' - and I don't use that term lightly. Whoa!

I hate it when the camera highlights my poor housekeeping!

Very sweet post.

Spider webs are good things...they take the dust out of the air :)

I am always happy to see my kids come for a visit and always sad when they leave. Such is life when you are a mother of grown-ups.

And to Laurie - I don't think you were entering the verification word incorrectly. Every time I post a comment on one of the "new" blogger pages I have to enter the verification word at least twice. This time it took me three times and I had two other people double check my typing before I posted!!

Laura- My wish is to get to the point where like Swampy, below - I see the cob webs as being a 'good thing' - kinda a reverse Martha Stewart :0)

Swampy - That word verification problem is very upsetting - I'm so grateful that you're all hanging in there and refusing to be turned away. Thank you and a hug for your tenacity (and your take on cobwebs!)

Cathy - This mother's heart relates to your mother's heart. It was so good to see Bug and Puff after their exctiting adventure in SE Asia, and oh so hard to hug them good bye at the bus station, three too short days later, before they set off for Vancouver. Sigh.

Lots of cobwebs gathered in hidden corners in my house too while we "made rather merry" over the Christmas holidays. I found quite a few of them as I moved this and that while putting decorations away.

Speaking of dust and cobwebs, my word verification for this post is "dusfiyp". Somehow it seems appropriate. "Fiyp" the "dust" and then make a cup of tea a relax.

Cuppa! I love it: Dusfiyp! What are the chances? Did you see Swampy's take above on cob webs? :0)

I've been having a lot of trouble with the word verification at most of the blogger blogs. Good to hear that I'm not the only one and that it isn't because my eyesight is going bad!
