Happy Birthday, Jody

When your son turns 40, well . . . spring-cleaning can wait. I caught this picture of the the Sun as it glowed above the horizon well after 6 o'clock this evening. There's still light in the sky and we're going on 7 o'clock. I've always told our son that his birthday occurs just as the birds are beginning their Spring songs and my heart finally believes that the light is returning - that Hope and renewal pulse just beyond that horizon.
Happy, Happy Birthday, Jody.

Cathy, your photo of sunlight through the trees is so nice and a touching tribute to your son. Many notable birthdays in February, ey? Very touching post.

I love the sunset shining through the trees. A good photo for Good Planets weekly theme of fire?
And a son that turned 40--whew. Give me 5 years and my son & I will be there.

Happy birthday to Jody! And happy birth day to you - my sister, now deceased, used to give me a flower on the birthdays of my children to recognize the fact that, as a mother, I had a reason to celebrate that day in my own right.

laurie - I know you understand the bond between a mom a her son.

Mary - Thank you. The pix of the Sun seemed just right for my astronomer son. February did produce some pretty special people :0)

Kgmom - Thanks! I had just a few moments to capture that shot. I was cozy on the couch - saw it through the window and ran. May those 5 years be very full and go very slowly for you both .

Swampy - Thanks for the good wishes. What a beautiful sister. I hope you pick yourself a flower now and remember that special bond.

What "Chatham" is the sweat shirt referring to?

AC - That' Chatham, Massachusettes on the elbow of Cape Cod. I did a montage last July.

I thought that last pic was of a forest fire at first - kinda scary!

Glad it's (just) the sun - surely send it for Good Planets.

Happy B-day to your baby son!

Thanks Laura. That's fire alright - just 93 million miles away:0)

Thanks for making me cry first thing in the morning. Oy.... the day my son turns 40, you'll find me in a fetal position on the couch, clutching his baby blanket and trying to relieve the smell of his head. Um, seriously. It will KILL me. But yes, life goes on. And you look fantastic! Found you through Pam and love your photos. As our state leader once said, who is now referred to as "the govenator" - I'll be back.
