YEA! SNOW! AGAIN!

I think I can say I speak for the Robins when I say, "Whhaaaaat?!"

waiting . . . waiting . . waiting. . . (cuter, clicked)

Hard water

Whose woods these are? The wonderful Toledo Metroparks.

White, white, white . . ..

All winter, frozen water has held nature fast.

Even the air is locked in ice . . .

Praying Mantis egg case

Everything is waiting . . for the warmth that will cause the little stirrings of the heart.

Well? If you can't lick it . .ummm . . . 'en-join' it?
After all, it can't last.

As Robert Frost said in his poem "Onset":

Yet all the precedent is on my side;
I know that winter death has never tried
The earth, but it has failed . . .

Cathy--what stunning photos, and lucky you to have a municipal park with such scenery. (Hurray for citizens' groups saving such space.)
I especially love the photos of ice--such a simple subject yet so photogenic.

I know it's not what we prefer to see right now, but it is really quite pretty.

Wow - great pics all. But that air in ice is really stunning!

Yeah, what kgmom, anvilcloud, and rurality said!

Can't say we see alot of this on the Pac Coast but it sure makes some beautiful images.

Many thanks for the cold feet and sharing these spectacular views.

Good old mother nature will not stop laying her blanket of white snow on the ground! I keep on thinking that it will stop one of these days! It will, I am sure of it!

Cathy, if it makes you feel any better, I could see my breath today. Bone-chilling cold for those who live in southern NC - 40 degrees :o) But we had rain!

Your hard water photograph is beautiful and the air trapped. At least you are out and about and enjoying what little there is left of this UNBELIEVABLY LONG WINTER.

Warm hugs,
Mary

Nature has no mercy at all. Nature says, I'm going to snow. If you have on a bikini and no snowshoes, that's tough. I am going to snow anyway. (Maya Angelou)

Anyone can take snow and ice photos in mid-winter, it takes a dedicated naturalist/photographer to seek out their beauty in early spring. Thanks.

I've just been catching up and enjoying all of your *wonderful* photos from the frozen north as well as the sunny south. We haven't been to Arizona in a few years, but I remember that sunlight very well!
